Welcome to Rock N Overlanding. My name is Dario and the lady next to me is Tracey. I’m the “off-road” guy and Tracey is the rock lady.
A brief background on us. Tracey & I both came from a small town on Vancouver Island – Port Alberni. We met at our graduation ceremony back in 1984 (ya we got a few years under our belts). We spent a wonderful summer together, then parted and went our separate ways. Jump forward 20+ years and we become friends on good ol’ Facebook and the rest is history. We’ve spent the last 15 or so years on many adventures and the further and longer we went, the more we realized how wonderful life had become since we got back together.
At first our adventures we carried out in the back of my Ford E-250 work van, but we quickly realized this wasn’t satisfying our “urge” to get away. We needed something more, something more capable. Into the picture came “Roni”. Our first 1998 Toyota 4Runner. Roni changed EVERYTHING – but unfortunately, mechanical issues saw Roni removed from our care, and Fiona brought in. We’ve never looked back since. Fiona has been an incredible machine. She’s a 1999 Toyota 4Runner – almost an exact copy of Roni, without the mechanical issues. At some point, hopefully the spring of 2023, I’ll be doing a video on Fiona’s modifications and upgrades.
Currently Fiona has taken us a lot of places, and mostly via back roads. From all over British Columbia, to Alberta, Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington State. Where will she take us next….
